Colin Dixon is a photographer who lives in the Tyne valley in the North East of England. He specialises in landscape, architecture and still life subjects. His clients have included The National Trust, Viking Books, North Pennines Heritage Centre, Forest Enterprise, Northumberland County Council and many book and magazine publishers worldwide.
He works closely with both the Arcaid architectural picture library and The National Trust picture library. At his office in Hexham in Northumberland, he has a growing library of local buildings and landscapes, and as a result of his work in Spain he has a very good collection of transparencies of the buildings and landscapes of the pilgrim road to Santiago de Compostela.
His work is represented by Arcaid Architectural Picture Library ( www. arcaidimages.com ) and 4Corners Picture libray (4cornersimages.com ). As well as his commissioned work he has frequently exhibitied his personal work. In 2004 he hyad a majot retrospective exhibition of sixty black and white prints in Florence. The book "Light and Time" was published in Italy to mark the exhibition opening.

June 1999 Commission from North Pennines heritage trust to make photographs for a travelling exhibition about the poet W. H. Auden's links to North Pennine landscapes and industries.
October 2002 'Ancient Woodlands and Venerable Trees" Group exhibition at Queen's Hall Arts Centre, Hexham and touring to three other venues.
March 2003 'Eyelines'. Photographs and poetry by six phototographers and six poets. Specially commissioned for Keswick Literature Festival and other venues.
September 2004 'Light and Time'. Solo exhibition of sixty black and white prints. Florence University Gallery, Piazza Ghiberti, Florence. Simultaneous publication of 'Light and Time' the book of the exhibition.
